Holly Lodge School

Welcome to pupils from Holly Lodge School.  We recently had a lovely morning with our new friends from Year 8 and Year 9, who helped to clean up our park.  They had lots of ideas on how to improve the park for our community. This was a fabulous start to our collaboration with the group.

Children from the local community have enjoyed Day 1 and Day 2 of our Christmas HAF activities (Holiday activities and food programme).  Day 1 saw the children enjoying a VIP experience at the Showcase Cinema and on Day 2, they were given a lunch and Mental Health box donated by @BoatofHope.  The boxes have been very well received - the children loved them.

Christmas Wreath Making

The ladies who attended the free wreath making class had a ball.

We think this will be an annual event now.

Wow!   We love this!

This young man really melted our hearts when we saw how much he enjoyed making his pizza using a recipe and ingredients from the park. Well done!

Your pizza looks so yummy!

Halloween Village

What a way to end the week with our fantastic Halloween Village! A great big thank you to our volunteer, Kate, who has worked so hard planning and organising lots of fun activities such as games, arts & crafts, story time and disco.  Also thank you to Bay Tree Cookery Academy CIC, who fed everyone with amazing pizzas.  That's a wrap for now!   Hope to see you all again next time.

That's it for now folks!

Pumpkin Heroes

Half Term fun was had by all!  We again secured funding from HAF and MPAC (Holiday and Activity Food and Merseyside Pay Action Council) for their initiative 'Eat to Meet'.  This meant we could provide healthy meals and snacks for the families and children who took part.  Ange and our volunteers worked hard to provide activities whilst committee members 'worked their socks off' behind the scenes to make sure that the activities could go ahead.  The funding also allowed YES (Youth Empowerment Service) to provide activities for the older children in the community.

Summer of Fun

Thanks to HAF (Holiday Activities and Food Programme) funding secured by Donna, the friends group was able to provide fun activities for local children. A great big thank you to Ange and her team of volunteers for running the activities for the younger children. So put the kettle on, make yourself a cuppa and settle down to look through the photos of our Summer of Fun!  We think this quote from one of our visitors sums up what every day was like:

"Fantastic day with my boys and daughter.  The ladies who run it are great and put so much effort into what they do with the kids so they have nice memories to look back on and nice craft items to take home.  I will deffo be telling all my friends and family about it for their little ones!"

Thanks also to Chelsea and Stu from Youth Empowering Services (YES) for running sessions for the older children.

Another programme that has been a fantastic success.
